Client Service What Would Your Clients Do
Developing the Next Generation of Rainmakers Client Service: What would your clients do? Yesterday I flew from Dallas to Denver. I scheduled the flight so I would have 90 minutes before my first coaching session. When I took my seat on the plane, I told my seat mate I had not flown on many MD 80s lately because they are so old they were being retired. (Note: It was not the plane in the photo above.) More than an hour after we were supposed to take off, the captain announced that the mechanical problem could not be fixed and they were taking the plane out of service. They would bring another plane to a different gate and we would leave from there. We took our bags, left the plane stood by and 30 minutes later the gate agent announced the new gate. When we got there we waited as the plane was coming from another city fully loaded with passengers. Finally it arrived, the passengers got off, the cleaning crew did its task and we boarded. Just when we thought we would be under way, the Captain announced the plane had a maintenance issue. Finally, it was fixed and we were on our way over three hours late. Iâm convinced airline employees are taught to say certain things like: We are sorry for your inconvenience. We appreciate your patience. (I was one of many who was not the least bit patient. I had to cancel two coaching sessions,) Suppose you failed to meet a date. What would your clients say if you told them you were sorry for their inconvenience? Wouldnât it be more than just an inconvenience? How would they respond if you told them you appreciate their patience? I practiced law for 37 years developing a national construction law practice representing some of the top highway and transportation construction contractors in the US.

3 reasons to rethink your office landscape
3 reasons to rethink your office landscape By now youâve probably heard of workplaces implementing unorthodox practices to improve employee satisfaction, such as nap rooms and chair massages. These workplace perks are meant to improve employee health and positively impact overall workplace culture. In conjunction with workplace perks like theses, business owners should be aware of how the physical office landscape itself affects staff and work processes. A new generation of professionals and innovations in technology are impacting when, where, and how employees work and collaborate and, with this, a new emphasis is being placed on environments that promote health and productivity. Despite significant changes to the office landscape, the one thing that hasnât changed is the traditional desk workspace. Perhaps surprisingly, traditional sit-only desks can have a significant impact on an organization. A new report from Ergotron, the 2016 JustStand ® Index: Getting Productivity Up Moving, explores full-time employeesâ attitudes towards sitting all day and how they believe it impacts their productivity and overall well-being. According to Betsey Banker, wellness manager at Ergotron, there are several ways sitting all day adversely affects businesses overall. Betsey highlights three reasons to rethink the office landscape to improve employee health and productivity, and corporate culture. 1. Itâs whatâs inside that counts There are many aspects of employee wellness that cannot be easily influenced at the office, such as how much sleep employees are getting or what theyâre eating for breakfast and dinner each day. While employers should still encourage and promote healthy behaviors in a variety of ways, focusing on the physical office is a great place to start. Itâs an area where employees spend over eight hours a day, five days a week, and the employer has complete control. Employers can help break up sedentary time by adding opportunities for employees to engage in low-level activities â" whether through the use of sit-stand workstations, walking meetings, or standing collaborative areas. Mounting evidence confirms that exercise will not undo the damage done by prolonged sitting, so employers should seek ways to help employees get on their feet in a more proactive way. By updating the office environment and providing a more active workplace, employers can more directly influence healthy behaviors. 2. Keep employees comfortable and productive While the impact on the body of prolonged sitting has been well-documented in recent years, employers have been slow to connect the dots between extended sitting and the physical health of employees â" or its corresponding effect on the overall health of an organization. Employees who sit for too long become restless and are forced to take breaks to manage discomfort or distraction. A staggering 58 percent of employees admitted to taking two to five breaks a day to relieve the discomfort of sitting. Results of the index indicate restlessness from prolonged sitting is more disruptive to organizational productivity than visiting social media sites. While many employers are worried about cyberloafingâ" personal use of a companyâs internet access while at work â" and its impact on productivity, itâs clear that employees are spending more time moving around (61 percent) than cyberloafing (a combined 39 percent). Whatâs more, outside research suggests that, when interrupted, it can take a worker more than 20 minutes to get back on task. While frequent movement should be encouraged, it should come from knowing the benefits of standing and striving for better health and wellness. It is critical for businesses to help employees have a voice in creating a work environment that fully supports their bodies and their ability to do their best work. One size does not fit all in terms of wellness opportunities, but the goal is always the sameâ"keep employees comfortable and productive . Addressing the discomfort at the source is important to finding a solution that benefits the employee and the overall health of the organization. 3. Create a more positive work environment Office culture is arguably becoming one of the major differentiators for recruitment and retention. Despite many organizations moving away from traditional cubicles to adopting a more open office floor plan, traditional desks are still in use and itâs leading to dissatisfaction. A majority (68 percent) of people must sit all day for their job and an overwhelming (61 percent) dislike or even hate sitting all day. The discomfort caused from sitting too long is not only a distraction, but a silent attack on company culture, as it may impact employee stress levels, their ability to manage conflict, and their general mood and attitude. Happy employees are vital to any businessâs success, and as there is a growing body of research around employee engagement and the link between employee satisfaction and profitability. Using sit-stand workstations to encourage movement can improve culture and health, helping companies retain and attract top talent â" all while enhancing productivity. The increased focus on employee wellness and satisfaction has pushed employers to invest in a variety of new perks and benefits to attract and retain employees. However, many companies have not fully examined the benefits of simply redesigning the office landscape to support a wider variety of work styles and to help incorporate more movement into the work day. Small office landscape adjustments can have a big impact on employee and company vitality. I'm the same. Truth be told, I'm composing this from my home office at the present time. I'm very blessed that telecommute days are a piece of our benefits bundle at The Penny Hoarder, however a few supervisors despite everything need persuading. The Considerable Benefits of Working From Home Stanford Business Senior Editor Shana Lynch as of late expounded on the results of an investigation led by Stanford business teacher Nicholas Bloom, who followed representatives at Chinese travel organization Ctrip to enable the organization to comprehend the effect of work environment adaptability. [Ctrip] requested specialist volunteers for an investigation in which half telecommuted for nine months, coming into the workplace one day seven days, and half worked uniquely from the workplace, clarifies Lynch. The exhibition of representatives who telecommuted shot up by 13%. Sprout ascribes the expansion to two things. He says laborers concentrate better when they telecommute and are bound to work a full move when they aren't managing with commutes, long snacks, and different interruptions. The examination additionally found the pace of acquiescences at Ctrip dropped by half when representatives were permitted to telecommute. The organization likewise detailed it made about $2,000 more benefit per telecommute worker. Along these lines, we should recap: Employees who telecommute perform better, are progressively engaged and less occupied, quit less regularly, and increment an organization's monetary benefit. For a bigger scope, telecommute choices help ration oil, lower ozone harming substance outflows, and set aside organizations basins of cash. (Obviously, the sky is the limit when representatives are permitted to telecommute. It most likely likewise assuages dry skin, advances hair development, and fixes terrible breath. Those things simply haven't been concentrated at this point.) Anyway, if the consequences of Bloom's investigation aren't sufficient to persuade your supervisor that representatives ought to have the option to telecommute, lay these extra benefits on them. You can likewise arm yourself with confirmation that working from home builds efficiency. In the event that your supervisor won't go for remote working at all, try haggling for a shorter work day. Still no karma? Try not to let it get you down. As a general rule, just about 7% of US work environments offer working from home advantages. What's more, to be consummately honest, working from home isn't generally as amazing as it sounds. But when it is. This article was initially distributed on The Penny Hoarder. You go out to interviews, sit through the gruelling questioning, hoping your answer was a correct one. Even worse, you have to wait for days, sometimes weeks, for an answer from the employers. Job searching really is nerve-racking. And you can have all the necessary skills, experience or education, for the position you are applying for. Nevertheless, if you do not present yourself in the right way through your CV, the chances of you getting that job will be very slim. Courtesy: blog.execu-search.com Every recruiter is looking for a qualified candidate, but even if the candidate is the right one, your bad CV can cost you the job. There are a few things the recruiters look for, and you should know what those are. On that account, here is a list of things you should pay attention to when making your CV because thatâs what the recruiters will look for. 1. Readability Whatever you put in your CV, it has to be readable. What does readable mean, you might ask? Well, it means that the format of your CV is simple, first of all. Do not just copy/paste some format without adjusting it to your information. Also, choose an appropriate font. Please, do not choose Comic Sans. Moreover, check your spelling and grammar. This is really important since it will show how educated you are. If you want, you can have a friend or colleague proofread it just to be sure everything is alright. Furthermore, if you are a graphic designer, you can design your own CV and show your skills there. It will be fun and useful. You will certainly showcase what you know. But in the end, what matters is a clean, readable format. Something that recruiters can read in a few seconds and get the information they need within that time. 2. Most recent jobs Why is this important? Well, by looking at your work history, the recruiters can get a sense of what you have been up to, and what you might be capable of doing. Also, if you are currently employed but you still applied for a new position, then the recruiter might be wondering if you are not satisfied at your current job or something like that. Additionally, if your last position lasted only a few months, the question whether you were fired and why might be raised, as well as why you werenât able to keep your job. But, the most important reason why your recent jobs matter, is to see if you have worked in similar positions and/or industry. This can help you a lot, since it shows that you are already familiar with the industry you want to work in. 3. If you are applying to be a manager, and you have a degree for it, or have worked in that position before, then make sure you put that keyword in the CV. Obviously, it is all about good thinking. However, it doesnât mean that you should put unrelated keywords in your CV just so that you could be picked out by the recruiter. Making the CV relevant is whatâs important. And lastly, do not think you can fool anyone by using white font to hide the extra keywords. 4. Gaps If you have gaps in your resume, it might be a bad sign. In case you have gaps between jobs and cannot explain them, other than saying you were too lazy to work, then you might have a problem. Gaps are good only in a few scenarios. For example, if you took off a few years to start your own company and have been self-employed, then the gap is totally justified. Or, if you have been committing yourself to your children, giving birth and raising them, then that too is justified. Everything else that might be the reason for the gaps, is bad. Perhaps if you hold your ground and explain the gap, then maybe the recruiter will give you a chance. The worst case scenario is that you were doing nothing in those few years. The reasons such as âI was not interested in workingâ or âI was lazyâ are very very bad explanations. So, be careful about your reasoning and make sure you can fill in those gaps with excellent explanations. 5. Companies you have worked for This is similar to looking at your most recent jobs. Work From Home What Worries Employers - Spark Hire
Work From Home What Worries Employers - Spark Hire Some time back, Spark Hire discussed the advantages telecommuting can have on your representative commitment. Not exclusively are you giving them trust, yet you are offering an adaptable domain that a great many people couldn't want anything more than to work in. Numerous businesses might be reluctant to offer a work from home choice however regardless of whether it would be practical and advantageous to their laborers. Why would that be? All things considered, when bosses hear that in the workplace their representatives are squandering around five hours every week on non-business related destinations they likely figure additional time would be squandered if their workers were unmonitored. These worries are justifiable, yet the work from home advantages may extraordinarily exceed them. Lets investigate a portion of the worries businesses may have about work from home and check whether they are anything but difficult to battle. As expressed beforehand, the way that representatives have free rule to do what theyd like on the off chance that they telecommute concerns numerous businesses. As expressed in a Forbes article, business pioneers expect representatives who work remotely and exploit the approach are not so much working. This is a direct result of the loss of control. Managers lose direct oversight and can't observer efficiency firsthand. That might be an objective motivation to dismiss telecommute, yet on the opposite side it might propose that you have an issue with your representatives or your administration style instead of an issue with telecommute. Truth be told, contemplates have indicated that representatives that are permitted to telecommute are in reality more profitable than those that work in the workplace. What's more, they are at less hazard for medical problems. To be explicit, the investigation expresses that telecommute representatives are 13 percent more gainful than their office-working partners. With this measurement, it is difficult to contend that representatives are less profitable when telecommuting. The loss of control might be hard for some supervisors to get a handle on, however it shouldnt be. Great administrators set objectives that their workers must meet so as to be esteemed beneficial. Presently, does it make a difference where these objectives are met, as long as they are met? Most would state no. With consistent objectives and objective following bosses can tell where the creation levels are inadequate. Straightforward nearness in an office doesn't mean efficiency. Another explanation bosses might need to avoid telecommute is on the grounds that they are apprehensive it will hurt their organization culture and collaboration. This can be valid, yet it relies upon the sort of work your organization pushes out. In the event that you have a group that should be in the workplace to work together with other colleagues, at that point obviously telecommute isn't an alternative. In any case, if your organization is comprised of a bunch of laborers that basically take a shot at their own, at that point offering telecommute may really improve your organization culture. Besides, it will move in the direction of driving top ability to your organization. Work from home has become extremely well known of late since most everything is done carefully nowadays. On the off chance that your organization doesn't offer work from home, you are failing to meet expectations. Top ability will need that choice accessible to them and will decide to work for the organization that offers it as opposed to the organization that doesn't. On the off chance that these reasons werent enough to persuade managers to consider offering telecommute, at that point think about the wellbeing of your workers. The normal drive of a working American is 46 minutes full circle. To those laborers: congrats! For some explorers that is to what extent a single direction excursion to work takes. Studies have demonstrated that workers with a long drive are significantly more inclined to hypertension and a lot more wellbeing intricacies. This might be reason enough to consider pondering work from home if your organization doesnt offer it yet. Its destined to be another year and its imperative to recollect that cheerful representatives are progressively profitable workers. Finish that off with the 13 percent expansion in efficiency you get with telecommute laborers and you might be en route to expanding your companys profitability levels, however its joy and culture too. Accomplish you telecommute and find that you are progressively profitable? Accomplish you work for an organization that doesn't yet offer work from home? Offer with us in the remarks segment beneath. Career Failure Take The Hit And Keep Playing - Work It Daily
Vocation Failure Take The Hit And Keep Playing - Work It Daily What's the size of a baseball, the heaviness of a grapefruit and can thump you to the ground at 50 mph? My lover, Dan, was a top pick lacrosse player in secondary school and school and has been playing the game since he was a child, he despite everything plays. One of my preferred stories he tells is additionally probably the best similarity for managing disappointment, dismissal, or when we are stood up to by something that leaves us speechless. At the point when you're a child first figuring out how to play the game and you get this show on the road with a lacrosse ball, you sense that you've been sucker punched by Mohamed Ali â" you're out of the game. Out as in you don't return since you've been carted away the field, multiplied over in crazy agony concealing the tears from Coach and your colleagues. As you grow somewhat more established (and greater) and get this show on the road by the ball, the game stops, the ref and Coach come running onto the field to look at things, you walk it off, pass on a couple of plays â" possibly you return in, perhaps you don't. For the most part, however, you're back at training the following day. At the point when you've been playing as long as Dan has and you see the ball shouting towards you at 70 mph you currently realize your best protection is to fix and wince, endure the shot and continue running. You realize you'll have a wound that endures seven days yet nothing about the torment stops you â" you've encountered it ordinarily previously and will commonly once more. At the point when you become familiar with the hit doesn't require crisis consideration, proceeding to push ahead really causes it to feel better - there is no compelling reason to stop. Moreover, you're an important player and this could be down point. How frequently have we endured a shot â" more regrettable than a lacrosse ball to the gut or as stinging as a Thanks, But No Thanks letter â" and we get halted? We're out of the game, licking our injuries, pondering whether to return. I love this similarity since it fits well into how we as people manage dismissal, disappointment, or when stood up to by something that prevents us from pushing ahead. From my own understanding, I've taken in the more I come up short, get dismissed, or get stood up to, the higher my degree of certainty becomes and the less time I spend as an afterthought lines. Truly I despite everything come up short, frequently stall out when gone up against, and feel the smarts to be dismissed, yet I do not flounder anymore, frown, or cover up. What's more, on the off chance that I do, it's not for long. I recoil, endure the shot, and continue moving. It's not to state I disregard the agony or separation myself from the passionate hurt, I am in contact with the way toward traveling through that: I simply don't let it remove me from the game for long, if by any means. I love being in the game more than I do being uninvolved. The more we play in the round of life, the more we will be hit by the ball. Furthermore, the more we are hit by the ball, the more we discover that it doesn't need to stop what we're doing. Learning this and applying it shapes our character - the two most significant viewpoints being authority and certainty. Consolidated, they are two characteristics that attract individuals to us with the end goal that we are seen, appreciated, and regarded. Be that as it may, the most ideal approach to build our level in one or both is to continue getting this show on the road by the ball. Play a greater game and the prize is our very own expanded consciousness initiative and certainty. At the point when we have the certainty to prop up even with disappointment, our playing field gets greater and getting this show on the road by the ball no longer methods the finish of the game. How To Automate Your Job Search On LinkedIn
How To Automate Your Job Search On LinkedIn Yes, their stock price crashed by 40%, but LinkedIn still remains the most popular professional networking site. Of all the global professional networking sites, it is also the largest, with over 238 million users in over 200 countries and territories around the world. Its no surprise that LinkedIns most important revenue stream comes from Talent Solutions, used by companies to recruit employees, growing 45% to $535million. Thats a lot of hiring companies. But at the same time, you have to compete with a large number of users. Not forgetting the number of outstanding Netflix series you have not started on. Job search really is such a chore! Automating Your Job Search Process Luckily for you, this article is going to teach you how to automate your job search on LinkedIn, so at the end of it, you will get more profile views, which could lead to (more) calls from headhunters. Rather than discussing LinkedIn profile optimization, this article is just going to focus on automating your outreach on LinkedIn. Lets get started: 1) Craft a magnetic tagline Or professional headline as LinkedIn would call it. The headline is the part that comes right after your name. You probably have one that states your current job title and company such as this: Design Engineer at HP Customer Service Director at Apple According to MyMarketbility, there are two parts to a compelling LinkedIn headline: the keywords, and the value proposition. Keywords would be what recruiters would search for; the value proposition is what drives them to read more. So you might put down Personal branding (keywords) strategist providing business leaders with techniques to maximize their brand value for career success (value proposition). In marketing terms, this is called a click bait. To make sure yours is good enough, search for your competition on LinkedIn. Run through what they listed down on their professional headline and ensure that you have the best. 2) Have a Call-To-Action Right after the headhunters click into your profile, they would be scanning through before deciding if they should pick up their heavy mobile phone and give you a call. And according to The Ladders, they do it in 6 seconds. That might be an experiment based on resumes, but I bet my money it is more or less the same for LinkedIn profiles, which are even more accessible. Your summary and experience must contain bite-sized content that would entice the reader to extend their 6 seconds stop-watch. Your summary should resemble an elevator pitch or the answer to Tell me more about yourself. The key difference is the Call-To-Action at the bottom. That is crucial to let the world know you welcome connections and contacts. 3) Automate forget Unless you have a highly optimized profile, you might land on page 10 of any search results. That isnt going to get you many views from headhunters. So while you work on optimizing your profiles to improve inbound traffic, you need to put the foot on the pedal on outbound. And this is where the automation part comes into play with Auto-Pilot for LinkedIn. This Chrome extension can be used when you use the LinkedIn Advanced Search page and what it does is it automatically visits the profiles that you have searched. In the trial version, you could visit up to 400 profiles automatically. The rationale is that active LinkedIn users (the headhunters) would see your visits as an alert. And they would click your profile to view yours. That obviously isnt going to happen on every visit but if you are visiting 400 profiles a day and 2,800 a week, I would say the probability would get much higher than before. My profiles view has more than doubled since I started on this tool. And did I mention the outbound views are automatic? Visiting profiles is a passive approach, which works better than chasing after the headhunters. It also makes for easier salary negotiation when it is them who come to you, and not the other way round. Now, where did I stop at Netflix? [Image Credit: Shutterstock]

Yes, Im a Recruiter... and No, I Cant Find You a Job
Yes, Iâm a Recruiter... and No, I Canât Find You a Job I love my friends; they are good people. However I am beginning to believe that I need to avoid talking about what I do as a profession. When you are in the recruiting industry, the people you socialize with believe you have this unlimited number of jobs for the taking. Almost like you have a job tree in your back yard with a plethora of jobs to pick from. There is a specific truth that is very self-evident in the recruiting industry, that candidates need to be aware of: Recruiters are loyal to those that pay their bills. It may be blunt, but it is true. Whether you are an external or corporate recruiter, your success (and paycheck) is judged on how well you fill your openings. Success in recruiting is not judged on how well you find jobs for your friends or family. What I mean by this is I have to find a candidate for my opening; I cannot be your personal job agent. When it comes to finding a job through a recruiter, you have to be strategic about it. You should look at recruiting the same way you would the medical profession. If you met an orthodontist at a party you wouldnât ask them to look at a problem you are having with your foot; thatâs not their specialty. If you know I specialize in software programming recruiting what makes you think I will have a number of admin jobs available? Itâs not my specialty and I will not be of much good use to you. I am not writing this to discourage those who are friends with recruiters. If you know a recruiter in your life you must be strategic with that relationship. Here are a few things to keep in mind: Know what you want I canât tell you the number of times a friend has told me they want out of their current job, only to not have a clear defined idea of the type of job they are looking for. How do you expect me to help you when you have no clue what you are looking for yourself? Would you expect a doctor to diagnose you without you telling them first what is wrong with you? Donât ask a recruiter to find you a job, ask them for their network Any recruiter who has been in the industry for many years has probably built a solid network and you should be taking advantage of this. For example: a friend of mine was recently looking for a Human Resources role. I let them know I havenât placed an HR professional since 2009, so I wonât be much of good use. However I have a connection who specializes in hiring HR roles. So I introduced the two to each other. That is how you should be handling your recruiter relationships. âI know you may not be able to get me a job; however do you know someone who specializes in placing my skill sets?â This is a much more effective question than âI know you place software programmers, so do you have an HR job?â So the next time I tell you what I do for a living, please donât hound me to find you a job. While I am a good-hearted person and want to help out, it doesnât benefit anyone if our goals do not align.

Breakdown, Breakthrough - Kathy Caprino
Breakdown, Breakthrough In working on my book intensively these past few months, Ive been acutely aware of something surprising. As many of you know, Im writing about the typical crises professional women face today (12 crises of disempowerment, to be exact), and Im realizing that: 1) Ive experienced all of these crises, some at the same time, and several of them more than onceand:2) Im in the middle of a few of them right now! This realization made me stop in my tracks this week, and ask myself How well can I help others if Im still going through some of these very difficult dilemmas, and havent resolved them fully? As I asked these questions, I had a bit of a breakdown not a clinical breakdown, but a deep realization that there are several key aspects of my working life that still arent at all where I want them to be. This led to an urge to break down these problem areas to their core elements, their essential nature, and understand whats truly going on at the most fundamental levels. In breaking down to the basic elements whats not successful or positive in my life, I somehow had a breakthrough I allowed myself to fully feel the pain of what isnt working and see clearly how my blocks are negatively impacting my life. Doing this hard inner work allowed me to gain acceptance of the pain, and by doing so, I could release it. In essence, I broke through. Not completely, not in all areas, but in a way that allowed movement beautiful, powerful movement, that carried me safely past my blind spots to the other side, this time. To help us all understand more about the process of breakdown to breakthrough, Id love to hear from you about your particular life experiences: 1) When has breakdown led to breakthrough in your life?2) What has needed to happen in your life for the breakthrough to occur?3) What areas continue to challenge you the most? Where are you hoping for a breakthrough to happen? Im very grateful for your insights and thoughts. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you a time of great movement and release. All best,Kathy

How to negotiate a relocation -
How to negotiate a relocation - Are you thinking about relocating for a job? It isnt always easy, and you might assume youll have to pay for your own relocation expenses. In fact, many companies will assist new employees with relocation packages. If youre flexible and do your research, its possible to tap into job markets outside of your area. Atlas Van Lines 45th Annual Corporate Relocation Survey provides useful data that job seekers should consider regarding relocation. For example: Sixty-five percent of firms surveyed offer relocated employees full reimbursement. More than 25 percent of firm respondents expect international relocation volumes to increase this year and 55 percent expect levels to remain similar to 2011. Internationally, Asia ranks as the most-frequent relocation destination (at 41 percent). Eighty-seven percent of firms have a formal relocation policy. More than half (52 percent) of all relocations last year were new hires. Employees age 36 to 40 remained the most frequently relocated salaried employees, and the majority of relocated salaried employees are male. Female employees account for only 20 percent of relocated salaried employees on average. Seventy-two percent of firm respondents give employees two weeks or less to accept an offer to relocate. More than 50 percent of companies reimburse or pay to pack all items, move an automobile, move exercise equipment, move a second automobile, and unpack all items. For homeowners, more than half of firms offer the following to transferees or new hires: temporary housing allowance, home-finding trips, storage, reimburse or pay for home sale costs, reimbursement or pay for home purchase costs, and home marketing assistance. For renters, more than half of firms offer the following to transferees or new hires: temporary housing allowance, reimbursement or pay for lease cancellation, home-finding trips, and storage. Where Can You Provide Resume Writing Services?
Where Can You Provide Resume Writing Services?Where can you provide resume writing services? It is simple to answer that question. Indeed, this is an important issue that demands attention from those in charge of conducting interviews for hiring. Here, we are discussing some of the available options available in this regard. One way to find employment in the world of outsourcing is to look for a reputed company that can offer you the services of resume writing. In fact, this option will be less costly than hiring a specialised agent for your professional requirements. Moreover, it is not a difficult task to do this since there are plenty of freelance writers available online and offline. The third step in outsourcing resume writing is to find out what is the exact requirement of the companies that you are looking to work for. If it is a company with a specialist niche and a long-term target, then you may need to engage a writer with the necessary background. You can then proceed by fin ding out whether such a writer is easy to work with or not.Once you are done with the two steps, you can proceed by finding out what the contract stipulates with regard to the services of resume writing. You will probably have to invest on a certain package that comes with a limited number of revisions to the text. Make sure that you are not asked to take unnecessary risks by employing a writer who is more interested in profit margins than your requirements. On the other hand, if the requirements are less specific, you can just hire freelance writers or freelancers. They will most likely write a resume for you on a pro Bono basis without charging any fee at all. The only prerequisite is that they should not demand for a fixed time period. You can make use of the World Wide Web to locate these writers and able people. On the other hand, many of them will also be willing to work with you directly in order to make things happen for you. In this case, you can make use of word of mouth to get their references and feedback. So, where can you provide resume writing services? Since hiring the services of the right person is crucial for the success of your job search, the best bet is to look for the service providers on the internet or through professional referral. Just take your time and avoid committing mistakes by ensuring that you research thoroughly before going ahead with your proposal.

This Company Pays Its Employees $7,500 to Go on Vacation
This Company Pays Its Employees $7,500 to Go on Vacation Want to get paid to go on vacation? This tech company is making it happen. FullContact, which organizes contact information and other identity-related data for individuals and businesses, has what it calls a âpaid, paid vacationâ policy that gives people a $7,500 stipend to go away. There is a catch, though. During your vacation, you need to be off the grid. That means no phone calls, no catching up on emails or checking in on slack channels â" your only responsibility: enjoying your time off. The company, which now has about 200 employees globally â" roughly 60 of which are based in the U.S. â" started the program in 2012 when only 10 people worked for the startup. The funding for the vacation policy came from investors and now costs the company over $1 million a year, according to Bart Lorang, founder and chief executive of FullContact. But itâs worth it. The policy helps the business run better, according to Lorang. âIt creates a healthier construct,â he says. Some places that employees have gone include Iceland, Bali, Kenya, Japan, Costa Rica and Spain, according to the company. FullContact asks its employees to bring back photos of their travels to share with the rest of the team. And maybe Americanâs truly need an incentive to go on vacation. A recent report by Statista, says that 768 million vacation days went unused in 2018, a 9 percent increase from 2017. The data goes on to show that Americans who did take advantage of their paid time off only used about half of those days for traveling. Workaholic to Work-Life Balance Lorang created the policy after he realized he needed more of a work-life balance. He remembers a trip to Egypt that he was on with his future wife, where he was completely glued to his device. âI was literally checking my phone, checking my email with the pyramids in the background,â he recalls. As his wedding approached, he was stricken with anxiety that his workaholic-nature and impulse to check his emails and messages would ruin his honeymoon to Tahiti. âI did not want to start off my marriage that way,â he says. So in 2012, the experiment at FullContact began, and now every year, each employee receives the stipend. It doesnât matter if youâre single or have a family of four to support â" every domestic employee gets the same amount (global employee policies vary). FullContact says every eligible U.S. employee took advantage of the policy in the last year â" you need to be at the company for a year before the perk kicks in. So why $7,500? Lorang says he roughly calculated the cost for a family of four to take a trip to a nice resort in Mexico and the rest is history. And if youâre wondering if there are any rules about what constitutes a vacation â" there pretty much arenât. While one of the goals of âpaid, paidâ is to give someone the opportunity to go on a trip they otherwise couldnât afford, if you want to use your âpaid, paidâ time for a staycation on your couch, binge-watching Netflix, technically you can. That does mean you could squirrel the money away if you really want to, but the company says most people go on a trip. You donât have to be entirely off the grid when youâre not on your âpaid, paidâ time off, but Lorang encourages it and says that the off-the-grid policy on âpaid, paidâ has translated to more employees going dark during all their time off. And employees get the money before they go away. When they request vacation time, they note that they want to use the stipend for that particular time off. Once itâs approved, they are given the money in one lump sum. So, employees donât need to pay for their vacation on their own and wait to get reimbursed later. Digital Detox If the thought of not checking your email for two weeks is panic-inducing for you, donât fear. Lorang has a whole checklist that he has developed to prepare employees to disconnect. âDigital detox is a real thing,â Lorang says Lorang advises his employees to set out of office messages on their work and personal emails and to delete apps like Slack and Gmail from their phones. And for those who truly want a challenge, Lorang encourages you to leave your phone behind on your vacation entirely and go completely analog. The policy has not only benefited FullContactâs employees but the company as a whole. Fully disconnecting forces people to realize that the company will continue to function without them, according to Lorang. â[People] get this misguided hero syndrome,â he says. Going off the grid encourages people to be more proactive about communicating with their team members and keeping people up-to-date on things, as well as, prepare and train colleagues to take on their job responsibilities when theyâre not there. FullContact isnât the only company that offers vacation perks like this. The note-taking software company, Evernote pays its workers $1,000 to go on vacation and marketing software company, Moz shells out $3,000 for its employees in vacation stipends. In the end, for Lorang, itâs all about people connecting with each other rather than their devices and making sure his employees are genuinely enjoying their time off. âItâs really important that we figure out that weâre working to live and not the other way around,â he says.
